Our unique ‘Intelligent Consulting‘ model fuses leadership, systems and people for seamless delivery, reduced cost and minimal risk to our clients, with the entire process managed in-house from planning to delivery.

And it works: to date, we have successfully completed over 300,000m2 of commercial interior space for over 2,500 organisations in 8 major cities and 3 countries.

Our story

Our history is rich with many interrelated stories which share a common thread: a vision of delivering the most admired commercial spaces in Australia through a unique combination of process and passion:
  • The journey begins.

    Valmont is officially in business as a construction company, headed by its two directors, Sergio Pires and Marcel Zalloua and operating from the mezzanine of a fruit factory in Sydney’s west.

  • Grand designs.

    Successful delivery of a range of construction project leads to enquiries for interior design. A design arm of the business is created, spearheaded by Jacqui Esdaile and working as a complement to the now well-established construction credentials.

  • East to West.

    Driven by national clients requiring fitouts for their WA offices and strong regional growth, the Perth office is opened, headed by Brenton Phillips. Valmont now provides design and construction services at a ‘national’ level, with design and construction teams on the ground in both states.

  • Fast Starters, Standards bearers.

    Valmont reaches #2 in BRW’s Fast Starter List. An amazing win for the directors, and the beginning of much bigger things for the company. Additionally, both the Design & Construct and Construction sectors of the business are certified to ISO standards: accreditation we’re very proud to have maintained every year since.

  • And from West to East again.

    Further client demand drives the hunt for a Queensland base, and we settle in Brisbane. As with the Sydney and Perth offices, both a design and a construction team are set up locally to service clients effciently.

  • The expansion continues.

    Not content with being active in 3 major cities, a fourth is added in the shape of welcoming Melbourne. Again, driven by demand and market growth, the full suite of services that have contributed to success to date are again implemented locally.

  • 50 people, 4 cities.

    Valmont reaches a headcount of 50: large in some cases, smaller by others, but without doubt a significant milestone and a reflection of the hard work done by all to reach this point.

  • Award nominated and a decade on.

    Proving that the design and construction services deliver inspiring, distinctive outcomes to our clients, Valmont is nominated for the Annual Australian Interior Design Awards. And so to 2014… Valmont will reach its 10th birthday in April: we’ll be planning suitable recognition of this milestone and look forward to sharing our journey so far with clients.

  • 10 years young.

    And so we reach a decade: 10 years of loving what we do and delivering engaging and successful workplaces. While it was generally ‘business as usual’ we did note the occasion with a heartfelt thank you to clients and suitable cake for the team. Here’s to the next 10…

Meet our people

A successful business is nothing without its people, and Valmont is certainly testament to that: its rise to a leading, national design and construction company has been crafted by a close-knit, dynamic management team, combining pragmatism, creativity and commercial nous in equal measure.

A sustainable approach.

We work closely with clients from the outset to implement energy-efficient, low-impact solutions at every opportunity. All key Valmont staff are accredited professionals with the Green Building Council of Australia.

This means we’re entirely equipped to support our projects with relevant information and recommendations for energy-efficient design and construction. We advise clients on achieving green-star ratings and can bring post-project benefits through reduced energy bills and improved productivity such as T5 or T8 lighting, CBUS systems with light sensors for base building amenities and open floors, and switching to LED lighting in common areas.

Our approach to creating sustainable, energy-efficient building space has helped clients reduce their energy demands by up to 25%, improve productivity by over 15% and even allow some offices to reduce their footprint by up to 40% through a change to activity-based working, all through implementing some or all of our in-house services:
