Valmont is proud to be designing and constructing iinet’s new Sydney office this year.
To ensure that we provide our clients with a working environment tailormade for their needs, we invited iinet’s employees to experience Inhabit, The Experience Centre at Stylecraft in Sydney’s Darlinghurst, which enables designers to offer their clients a ‘try before you buy’ experience.
Upon arrival, clients are welcomed and provided with a full induction by Inhabit’s concierge and can then get on with their regular working day while enjoying breakfast and refreshments in Inhabit’s breakout space. Located above Stylecraft’s showroom, Inhabit’s floor is zoned into collaborative, quiet, technology, work and breakout areas that allow for a variety of tasks to be accommodated in flexible, efficient and convenient surroundings. Clients use their own laptop, tablet and mobile devices to take advantage of the latest in plug and play and interactive technology in the various zones.
The transition to an ‘agile’ workplace requires a shift in both company and employee thinking and attitudes, and Inhabit enables users to begin to conceptualise their future working environment. A desire for productivity and efficiency at any given time with any given task stems from advances in wireless connectivity, smart technology and social networking. Providing flexibility and encouraging collaboration, the contemporary workplace is zoned to accommodate a variety of user environments through the provision for learning, meeting and focus areas.
This agile approach to the workspace contrasts with the tradition of employees arriving to a specific workpoint and can often be met with apprehension: Inhabit at Stylecraft has been developed to allay this apprehension and build engagement with an activity-based working environment.
Valmont’s Creative Director Jacqui Esdaile says “Agile working is here to stay and Inhabit provides designers the opportunity to show clients the benefit of transitioning to this type of working environment so we are all on the same page when it comes to planning a new fitout.”
