This composite brief requested a co-working space for three companies – Sydney Water, Water NSW and Water Services Association of Australia in the CBD. The new space had to accommodate the staff from these three businesses while also having the flexibility to hold training events and functions.
The space needed to be ergonomic in its design and provide staff with a multitude of working styles to promote collaboration.
Given the demand from additional staff numbers, we designed a space that features a large communal waiting area doubling as the kitchen/breakout. This highly flexible space also provides the perfect area for functions and events.
The fit-out also features four large meeting rooms that can be scaled up or down up for training, larger meetings and staff talks. Each is fitted with with high-end AV facilities.
The working area is open-plan and integrates a variety of collaborative spaces and stand-sit workstations. High-back lounges, open meeting pods and a large breakout table offer staff the flexibility of how they want to work and interact.
Sydney Water is Australia’s largest water and wastewater service provider, delivering safe drinking water every day to almost five million people across Sydney, the Blue Mountains and the Illawarra. It also looks after wastewater and some stormwater services to help protect the health of Sydney’s rivers and beaches.
