The Brent Wilson label likes to play with fabrics and prints, so it was important the colour scheme of the fit-out did not clash with the clothes on display. So, the brief dictated the look and feel of an art gallery, adopting a minimalist and clean feel, leaving the clothes as the focal point of the store.
Renowned for bespoke suits, the brief also determined that the finished space provided customers with a comfortable lounge area in which to relax during the made-to-measure process.
Valmont responded by pairing clean, white walls with polished concrete floors, while fixtures and fittings were given a clear stain to enhance the raw finishes of the surfaces. To offset this and bring the focus further onto the clothing, the exposed ceiling was painted black.
The lounge area was finished in different hues of grey, with custom-made, concrete display boxes showcasing this season’s collection and the point-of-sale counter was constructed in concrete to complete the minimalist look.
