Connected floors, collaborative team.
Following their move to the landmark Chifley building in Sydney’s CBD, Quantium issued a challenging brief for this flagship space: design and deliver a fit-out which ensures all spaces have access to the spectacular views east, north and west, that every member of staff can access those views and the natural light no matter where they sit, and they can stay ‘plugged in’ and connected – all across the entire 5 floors.
The design plan has encouraged team connection and engagement on a daily basis, with multiple work points, breakout spaces and meeting areas placed throughout. In order to maintain an open and collaborative layout, texture and colour are used instead of more traditional physical division to define spaces and a sophisticated palette evolves to a bolder, more creative palette as staff move further down into the space.
Lighting, door handles and other detail finishes have been inspired by the curved Quantium logo device, and these in turn are contrasted with a linear pattern that is developed throughout the design in wall and door paneling, ceiling details and some custom designed seating.
The end result is a ‘vertical village’ structured to encourage team connection and engagement on a daily basis, with multiple work points, breakout spaces and meeting areas placed throughout.
The open-plan layout has breathed light, openness and a greater sense of team into the entire space – with the views very much a central part of this.
